    Horsedontlie- I can do that for sure! I am like you I learn from seeing people show there progress. I will take update photos of the one im currently working on.

    So here is the foal drew for ParaIndy. I am not happy with how it turned outso Im drawing another one of your foal.

    So here is a WIP of the next one. SOrry for the bad photo quality I can't find my camera so these are phone pictures.


    First off I draw the outline. I like to do the eye first so I do that just using a black and a blue pencil. Then I do the nose, for this one (a creamy coloured nose) I used a pink pencil as well as a cream and a yellow. Then for the darker bits within the nostril I use blue and then go over it with my black. I have also added a little bit of green to the lower lip.


    I then use an orange pencil and just lightly shade in the horse. I do the entire horse (even the highlighted areas) I just make sure I press lightly on the highlighted bits and I press a little bit darker on the shadowed area as to mark out where they are going to go.


    Here I have then added some blue to the dark areas and a bit of red to some areas (I know it is hard to see sorry).


    I just then keep on adding more blue and purple to the dark areas and more red to a few areas. Now I have also taken out a light brown and a darker brown and have added them to most of the horse to give it a more brown look.


    Im not done yet I still have a far bit more to work on. Im unhappy with how this is turning out so far though L it appears to be flat and I wish I had of done a few different colours earlier on but oh well I will see how it turns out.

    Good luck to anyone who actually read that haha. Im not great at explainging things so I hope you knew what I was saying half the time!

    Wow, your drawings mature with every post. I can really see the color combinations and layering effects we talked about before. Awesome job!!!!

    As a physical therapist, I always tell my patients "I can give you the tools you need, but it's up to you to use them." In otherwords, I gave you a few pointers, but you ultimately did the work yourself and your own talent is what has made these drawings look so good. I can't count how many times I have grown as an artist in this forum from advice so generously given by other artists in here. I only hope that I can pay it forward whenever possible.

    Thank you! Excellent examples. Soon as I get a job I know the next thing I'm going to be buying from the art store. It looks like its something better to practice with than pastels. Which I have currently put on the back burner.

    Okay so I will admit I havnt been working on any of these . I have been working on some other coloured pencil ones to try and better my drawings. Anyway here is the finished one of the foal.
