Bring to me your ponies~

Hey there, folks!

I'm working on a new product -- Darling Miniature Portraits -- to be used all over the Internet as "stamps" of sorts. On other websites, they are referred to as "tags." Most of them are 150 pixels wide by 150 pixels tall (they are always squared). They range from 25x25 all the way up to 600x600.

The "tags" are very easy to make, and usually don't take an excess of 5 hours each (but can be spread out over 2-4 days, depending on my personal/work influence). I'm working on building my portfolio for these objects, and I need more samples!

So, this is what I need from you... something to draw!

  1. A description of your horse's personality traits or odd little quirks.
  2. If you desire, a custom pose idea (or if you want the photo painted into a tag).
  3. Reference image(s).
I will not be drawing every horse posted here!
I will draw only the pets/poses I feel I will enjoy drawing.

Further Information...

As the artist and copyright holder, I reserve the rights to re-post (but not re-sell) the artwork in my online galleries/forum posts as a sample. The "freemissioner" (free commissioner) may re-use the work as icons, signatures, and other such digital purposes. It is not to be re-sold for virtual or real money. If the work is derived from a photograph, the original photographer will always be credited.

Because of their versatility on the internet, these usually cost $25 USD. I'm holding this "free session" for a limited time only until I get more samples for my portfolio! I've currently done mostly horses, but can also do dogs, cats, etc.

I love these, i find pixel art so quirky and cute. Just a wee question, what program do you use to create them?

Name (of animal):Whiskey

Personality (of animal): She's totally goofy most times, yet certainly has people sussed out, she's really brave when i ride her and will go anywhere i ask of her, however if there's a different rider on her she will test them to the limit to make sure they are competent enough to look after her.

Desired add-on (border, drop shadow, other effects): maybe a background colour like the one you have on the foal picture.

Reference photo(s):

Custom pose?: I've posted a few pictures so whether you do a custom pose or use a reference i'm not too fussed.

Breed of animal: Possibly a connemara x (her passport says un-recorded, we were told connemara when we got her)

I'll get started on these two tonight! :) Once I get some concept sketches done, I'll send you each a PM and you can choose which is your favorite.

Whiskeynoo, I use Adobe Photoshop 7.0 for all of my tags. I also have Paint Tool SAI, but use that for larger art pieces.
