Which bedding do you prefer: Wood vs Cardboard?

I've been interested in knowing which bedding people preferably use the most.

I am guessing wood shavings are less expensive than cardboard, are they? I've heard of people using cardboard but is it more economical than wood? I would assume that cardboard is more absorbent, is it worth it?

Just curious, and was wondering if anyone has used both or has a little knowledge regarding the differences such as absorbancy and price.

Thank you so much :)

I've never heard of cardboard for bedding. That must be new. I use wood shavings, the medium kind. When I go to a show, I get the big fluffy ones, they look better in the stalls. Alot of people use sawdust from the local mills. That works great and is alot cheaper but you need a place to store it and you have to shovel it in and dump it out. It takes too long and is too much work for me to bother with. I have rubber mats in my stalls and i only use about a 1/3 of a bale of shavings in each stall. It's enough to soak up the pee.
