Angry Gah! a rant....

What is with all this drama!?
I am the type of person who really does not get why people get into fights, why people make enemies, and why these people cannot come to agreements! It just makes absolutly no sense what so ever!
So, knowing that about me, you can all guess why I am so annoyed at everyone in the horse world at the moment...
So heres the story:

I was boarding at a nice, quite stabels 15 min. Away from my house. My best friend who also rides with me lived ( literally ) up the road. I could get out there and ride everyday. There was an indoor arena, the people where ( so I thought) nice. It was pretty much perfect. The trouble began when a new trainer came in with her clients. ( lets call this trainer jane). I had acually trained for 7 years with jane when I was younger, so when she first got there I didn't think much of it. Almost immidiatly the energy in the barn changed. Her students were so different, they were errogant, they stared at you when you came into the barn like they thought you shouldn't be there, it made it very awkward. Jane had the arena tuesdays, thursdays, and saturdays. On those days, she took over and her students ruled the world. Anyways, shortly after arriving, my trainer, Jane, and the owner started to fight. The owner ( completely out of the blue ) sent out an e-mail saying " due to recent insidences.....[ my trainer ] will no longer be teaching at this stables....." She never gave acual reason. So now this other girl ( who really knows nothing about horses ) is the barn manager, and my trainer is no longer welcome at the stables. She cannot teach there, she can't even go into the building. So 25 of us leave the barn, and go to this other place 45 min. Away from my house, a beautiful place, but a racing stables, no arenas what so ever. I can only ride 2 times a week now, and the whole place, although nice, doesn't give you the real stables feel. Anywho, long story short, my riding is getting worse, I can't see my horse more than twice a week, and this old stables is shutting down because Jane left. Now my trainer has changed, I don't know why, and we all will have to get up and move again the moment the weather turns bad, into another stables.

So after all that, I am so confused as to why people make these decisions. Why must everything be so complex!? I mean, its such a foreign concept to me as to why people stur up drama.....

Sometimes life just sucks.

I am guessing your BO made a decision they thought was the right decision for their barn. It is obvious it was not the right decision now but at the time who knows what they had to go on.

Could you possibly move your horse closer to home to a facility that allows outside trainers to come in?
This would allow you to see your horse more, ride more, and still use your trainer.

Drama is a part of life. It happens anytime you get more than one human together. Make those groups mainly female and they only get worse in the drama and catty department.

Learn to laugh, smile and nod at all the right times and hopefully the drama will not bother you too much.

Why would everyone leave a barn just because a trainer left? To me that seems kind of silly. Its wonderful that so many people are loyal to her but my first loyalty is to my horse. If you can, I would go back to your old barn so you can ride your horse every day. Honesty is always your best bet.. tell the old BO that although you miss the trainer, you don't share your trainers feelings towards the BO and things just are not working out at the other barn.

Boarding barns are synonomous with drama! At my place there is always something.

Where there are horse people, there is bound to be drama. We're all very opinionated and we do things differently. Put a bunch of us together and you're going to have some disagreements. That's the one thing I don't miss about boarding. I've dealt with my share of barn drama, most of it having to do with the welfare of the animals. It's amazing how it only takes one person to make all the other boarders miserable. It's incredibly draining, too.

But I'm a little confused as to why all those people left your barn just because the trainer got kicked out. What was the BO so mad about? I don't get it. :/
