My boarding fee includes 6 bags of shavings a month. On average I use 4 or 5 a month per stall so there is some overage if needed. This way if the weather is horrible or theyre horses are pigs then they share some of the responsibility.

Are these horses coming in over night.....because 6 bags a month...that isn't not alot at all!

I mainly use bulk shavings as way cheaper. But I do have a couple horses on bagged, as one has COPD so less dust for her the better, and another boarder just requests bagged.
And I go through 1 bag a day per horse. So approx 30 bags a month. sometimes more, sometimes less depending upon the particular day and how bad their stall was.
so 6 bags a month!! how big are these bags lol

Horses are like chips...you can never just have one

I was thinking the same thing. I guess if you had a good bed established and you had a stall drainage system installed you may be able to extend it to a bag every couple days. But 6 bags a month that is a bag every 5 days! Tell us your shavings saving secrets.
