We have an immediate opening for a ranch hand with strong mechanical skills to assist in daily care of 20 to 30 horses. I am seeking a responsible single to work and live on a 35 acre horse ranch in central Ohio – 15 minutes south of Columbus.
Duties include: horse handling and feeding, mucking 10-20 horse stalls in am, picking manure from paddocks once a week, drag arena every couple days, haying 20 acres in summer, fence and building maintenance, running manure spreader and tractors every day and maintaining equipment. This is not a training position, we need someone with the ability to change oil in a tractor, grease joints, change a tire, and run a manure spreader without direction. We need a self-starter who can manage their own time.
Physical ability to perform all aspects of the jobs is required. No drugs, no drunks, and we will run a background. Valid driver’s license a must. Room and board provided in a nice house and $200 a week. You could work another PT job on the side or work some horses for extra income, depends on how efficient you are with chores. I have a lady on site with horse expertise in terms of injuries, feed, etc., but she needs assistance with the chores. I am generous in sharing my horses with good riders. You can see the stable at HoldYourHorsesStable.com
