Question mud mud and more mud

How do you tackle mud? My new barn work job has a severe mud problem. Two mud pens, full of wet muck and deep hoof holes. Its from winter, rain, and probably over use. How do you even begin to fix that?

Well every mud is different...here we have clay mud...which as far as I've been told is the worst mud possible. We till it to 1 or 2 inches. Put compost on it...seed it with bermuda...and then cover it in pine mulch to protect the little seeds. Seem to do an okay job. Worst comes to worst...you have to scrape the whole thing...grade it to a slope again.
