    Planting grass

My neighbors have a little farm that I volunteer at. The pony she has can come in and out of her stall as she pleases. They have a pasture and a dirt area where the barn is.
in the summer and winter, the dirt is ether frozen or dry...but in spring and fall, it gets muddy. I was wondering if there is a way to plant grass in the dirt, but the pony be able to get to the barn and back...is there any way I can do that? Thanks!!!

You could have it regraded, and build up the clay so the drainage runs away from the barn. Outside our barn we have gravel, which works great for the drainage.
