Recycled Asphalt for Outdoor Base

They are constructing a new outdoor arena at our barn and are useing crushed recycled asphalt instead of limestone as a base befor they put the sand down. Its is going to cost a few thousand dollars cheaper to do it this way. Is there any downfalls or things to consider when using recycled asphalt vs limestone.

One thing I should add is we asked the contractors and they said that the product is simular to limestone as far as consistancy and the way it compacts.
