Will this make the water bill go up

Actually I don't think we pay a water bill anyway cause I'm sure it isnt tied into the light bill so maybe this is a moot thread but I will go ahead and ask for my knowledge in case I live in an area one day where they charge a fee for water. Well I think I might want to get the thing that you put in the horse's water bucket that will auto fill itself when the water gets low and I'm sure you will have to leave the water turned on so my question is rather or not with the water being turned on all the time if it would increase the bill? I guess it wouldnt though since the valve will not let it run all the time and the pump only comes on when water is released am I correct?

Water is billed by the quantity used. So unless your horse stands there dumping out the contents of it's bucket over and over, the water usage would stay the same providing that you are currently giving your horse an adequate supply of water.

Don't be too sure about that. Our "water bill" is directly tied to our electric bill...we're on a well!

My horse did that :P So we put the bucket on the outside of the fence where she could reach her head to drink it, but not paw it out :)

yeah and I guess since it auto fills when it gets low, by the water being turned on but only being used when it gets low, I guess the pump is only running as the water valve is open and therefore I guess I was right as to the water actually staying on isnt running up the bill. It only is affected by the valve opening when it gets low which turns on the pump and water is used am I correct?
