I've always been curious about this.. but to all the people on the board that own their own Equine Business (Sales, Riding Instruction, Massage, Boarding, Training, etc) How did you come up with your business name?
My facility is called Blackthorn Stables. When I was 10 and still playing with Breyers, me and my friend made our own little "stables" I forget what she called hers, but I was playing a computer game called BlackSTONE Chronicals... and I thought how cool Blackthorn would sound... so I paired it with "Stables" because it sounded best out of everything (Blackthorn Farm, Blackthorn Ranch, Blackthorn Barn, Blackthorn Livery, etc)
How did you come up with the suffix as well? (Farm, Barn, Stables, Livery, Ranch) Was it based on the property your business was on? Or did you just do what I did and pick what sounded best?
What are your Barn Colors and Why? Mine is Black with Red Trim and White Piping. It was going to be Black with Blue Trim and White Piping because I loved Backstreet Boys growing up, and one of their Albums was called "Black and Blue" But Red is m favorite color so I tweaked it. I feel less silly now, lol =)
Do you have a logo? If so... did you design it yourself? What was the inspiration behind it?
Mine is a Horse Jumping (at liberty) over a cresent moon. Again, when I was young, I was thinking about my silly little Breyer farm.. and I LOVED the look of a horse jumping at liberty.. such a wonderful elegant form! And.. I loved Cresent Moons because... I am ashamed to say, but I was really into Sailor Moon, a Japanese Cartoon, LOL! So, I paired the Jumping Horse with the Cresent Moon and Viola!
Since i've moved to South Carolina people think the Moon is from the SC flag.. LOL im more creative than that!
Here's my logo.. feel free to share yours! I designed it myself! Being Artsy and doodling all the time finally paid off! (it looks much better in person, and on a lighter backing.
I look forward to seeing your responses!
Its amazing how a silly childhood fantasy can become a reality!
