AW4D Finals ended the season with a BANG :)

Had a BLAST as usual at the AW4D Finals! Boys both did great! We left early Tuesday morning and picked my dad up on the way (12 hour drive for us) so got there around 4:30pm and got the horses bedded down for the night and everything and headed to bed early. Then Wednesday we had a relaxing day lol so I rode the boys and oh was JJ feeling good lol....he didn't want to do anything I asked but he knew what he was their for and didn't feel like working on foundation work in a snaffle lol. Scrat on the other hand was great and did everything I asked. Also let them in the little sand arena by the stalls to mingle for a bit while we cleaned stalls ect so I took pics.

Then Thursday we went to the Office where we chatted with Lynne and the producers and owners of AW4D Randy and Larry who are great people. I got some exhibitions and my mom trotted JJ through for me while I worked Scrat and made a little run on him and he did everything perfect for never even riding in the arena before (a 21 something). Then we went to Big R, Walmart (shopped for the good $5 movies lol) and just hung out some more. Then I hung out in the office with Lynne and chatted and waited for the Pizza Party! So I hitched a ride and we went to the other pavilion and met my parents there. We chatted some more, ate some food, then chatted while awards and come to find out I was WA Open Year end Champion! I was shocked and about broke my neck snapping it around when I heard my name lol.

Then Friday since Scrat did great on his Exhibition I late entered him for that day (Friday) and Sunday so he could have a day between to relax and not get overwhelmed. So JJ ran first and he did GREAT ran a 16.234 which was 4th in the Open 1D also was 1st in the ACS side pot! He worked SUPER good and was very pleased with him! Scrat ran a 18.433 but we knocked 1st and 3rd he over exaggerated our pockets lol so we barely got them coming out but he did REALLY good. If we wouldn't have hit barrels we would have won the 4D lol. After I ran both horses I went to the office and helped hang results, do checks, hand out checks after the Open, Yth, ect. Then Lynne took us out to Mexican and we had a good time, lots of good talking and laughing.

Saturday was another good run he ATE his first barrel but on 3rd it was sticky and he didn't like the ground so blew off of it a little and ran a 16.6 which was out of the money AGAIN lol. I would have won the 2D if the fast time wouldn't have changed from a 15.9 to a 15.8 in the last 20 riders lol. But was one out of the money in the 2D....

Then Sunday he did great again! Sorta blew off a little on 3rd again just didn't like the ground at 3rd, ran a 16.4. Still very pleased with him! Then I ran Scrat and he did good but brought down 2nd, he rated and when he did the Corriente (so over this saddle and have a Triple Creek in the order process) kicked my feet back and me forward so I could get my feet back under me to push him forward...didn't really push him to 3rd and ran a 18.8. VERY pleased with how he handled the weekend for sure because that was only his 3rd big race like that and he did great. So I once again helped in the office and such. I was 1 out of the money in the Open, 1 out of the money in the ACS and 6th in the 1D average...which was 1 out of what they did awards lol!

But it was a GREAT time and we had A LOT of good laughs lol. Me and Lynne had some good talks...LOVE that woman super lady and always videos lol :)

Ok ENOUGH rambling lol and I will get to posting vids!

JJ Friday

Scrat Friday

JJ Saturday

JJ Sunday

Scrat Sunday

So I am VERY pleased with the boys and how they worked. JJ did great but just wasn't firing like he usually does in that pen. Which I think a lot had to do with it was the fires we had ALL SUMMER, ugh terrible smoke. But like I said he did GREAT and worked GREAT for me this weekend and ALL year. I will add a few pics from the weekend when they were turned out, but you will have to wait for the barrel pics until they upload them on the web last name is W so it will be the last set uploaded lol.

So I will post some pics in the next one lol.

Very nice pics! The goofballs....

Scrat is looking nice! Once he figures out his pockets, he's going to be smoking some runs.

Now do tell: What do you wrap your horses legs with for their standing wraps?

Ya when he is a bit nervous he over exaggerates things lol.

Alright they get Sore No More on their legs every time the are wrapped. They both get No Bows under the Standing Wraps. Except JJs are Back on Track No Bows and Scrats are just your ordinary No Bows.
