Barrel Racers :DD

Since I can't post on the action shot post because Im under 15, I decided to post this, where if you barrel race you can post and say what all events you do and how long you've done it, etc. =)

I have ridden horses all my life and started barrels, poles, pleasure, halter, etc. (anything western) about two years ago practicing. I haven't showed yet though because I had to train the horse but Im looking forward to taking Babydoll whenever the next show comes.

I love my cow horses. Foundys rule. That is all.

I've ridden and have done barrels and poles pretty much my whole life. Born into a barrel racing family.
Also took hunt seat and jumping lessons 2 years ago, showed local pleasure shows and jumping classes at fair(where my barrel horse has won the last couple of years ;)

I run NBHA and IBRA shows on my mare, she's a 2D horse.

I havent ridden barrels yet but I am training my gelding to for next show season :)

Horses are scared of two things... Things that move and things that don't.

My 24-yr old Paso Fino gelding and I got a Top 5 Gymkhana award last year at fair, but it really isn't his thing. I've been training my dressage-trained Thoroughbred for speed events instead, and she tears it up. We would have earned Top 5 again this year, but the announcer forgot to call us in for Barrels, so we were out of the running.

Awesome! What breed is she?
I do NBRA and 4H and am hoping to get into more AQHA shows and I do any odd associations that have events at a place where I show mainly.

She's a Paint, she's solid and really has more q
H in her. I would like to do some AQHA shows with the next horse I get.

I've been doing it my whole life. I worked my way through gymkhana, from leadline, peewee, and now I'm in Junior. My first barrel horse is finally retired and can't be run anymore...The poor guy still gets mad when we load up and he doesn't get to go. We were the dream team, lots of first places and high points under our belt and its just time for him to stop.

But I'm leasing a barrel mare now for the season. If we do well together I'm going to buy her.

Pssh.I didn't pick up the wrong lead
It's called a counter canter...
...A very advanced maneuver.
