When the stirrups are hung that far forward does it make good for longer rides? Im trying to find the happy medium (for longer rides and barrel racing)

To be honest I never ride that long in my barrel saddles....I have a old custom colt starting saddle I use if we are riding out. Which that to has more forward hung stirrups now that I think about it and it is super comfortable when riding all day. The Corriente is MISERABLE to be in all a race this summer I was about 500 something so camped on Scrat after I ran JJ and oh how I hurt lol.

But my TC for the time I have had it I am in LOVE with it....same with the Double Js they are both great quality saddles and for me super comfortable because of the forward hung stirrups since I have a knee injury that flares occasionally if my legs are not able to stretch forward.

I see, thank you for all the advice. Im so indecisive I can't make up my mind about a saddle!

Green Broke
I had a Teskey's barrel saddle that would always force me into this godawful position everytime I loped. No other saddle has ever done that. Then again....I ride in a 15", and it was a 13.5". No biggy right?:P

Oh maybe that had a tad to do with it haha

Any other opinions?

I have seen a few Barrel Saddles that have a flat seat and a high cantle which can put you in a slight forward position.

A Barrel Saddle with a deep seat and one that the Maker shapes the seat (some call it ground seat) will always keep you in a better and more comfortable position

Btw, I like triple creek saddles, I have a couple new ones for sale

Would you mind showing me the two different types of saddles you are talking about?
