A (reputable) little birdie told me that the horse Darcy bought was not $200,000...my little birdie said the horse sold for $55,000. Birdie knows all the girls in the shows besides the rookies, and has raced against all of them in the last few years. Barb's husband used to shoe my daughter's horse. If he wasn't so busy, I would have kept him as a farrier when we bought her.

Well, it's not like Darcy is the first horseperson to ever exaggerate or overstate a horse's price/value, lol.

I'm willing to bet she didn't exaggerate on her own. It's more dramatic to elevate the price for ratings, and so the girls could make a fuss about how much she spent. I'm sure she was asked to do that.

I'm not even sure why I am hooked to this show. I really like Barb and Marvel. Even Jess.. I know the show is soo fake. It makes it even better.. It'r horrible the rep that they 'give' everybody that actually does the sport.. But it happens I guess..

I think the show is a total crack up ! You have the rich one whom the producers have name drop the movie star with her fake boobs and lips, the silly little girl who thinks the guy that's 27 is in it for the love and not her panties, The one who has to depend on her horn dog cousin (?) that she treats like whipped boyfriend, and wins enough to go buy a new truck LOL .. not hardly, the woman who leaves her hubby behind because its her turn to go rodeo , cause he 'done' did it already while she kept the farm going... what a hoot... whoot whoot..

I so agree. It doesn't tell a lot of truths about the rodeo world just the steamy crap, but it is kinda funny to watch how far they like to take stuff. Oh we'll they do have some nice horses running though.

I have to admit I will miss this show - 6 episodes of ridiculous drama punctuated with a few pretty horses wasn't enough!

^It was only six episodes long? It must not have done well.

Oh, it was marketed as being a 6 episode mini series. I hope it comes back for a full season!

So, question. How long is the barrel racing season and how do these women afford driving from rodeo to rodeo without a 'real' job? I know they are all chasing checks, but are the checks big enough to support the habit? I mean, the gas alone would be expensive.
