Bloodlines

What are your favorite bloodlines to see on a barrel horse or prospects papers? Do you search for them specifically or have any horses with them? What bloodlines are most common in your area to hear about? I'm just bored and curious, it's interesting how much it can all vary from one area to another. And to hear people's opinions.

Older breeding I like Dash For Cash, Biankus, Jet of Honor, Sun Frost...

The newer generations, I like Bully Bullion, Corona Cartel, Judge Cash, Frenchmans Guy (right crosses).

In the Pacific North West the dominating breeding is Judge Cash, Biankus, and Jet of Honor, with a couple Dash Ta Fames thrown in the mix. And Dats A Frenchmans are actually starting to make a move up here also.

For other bloodlines there are a lot of Hancocks and Leos.

For a pedigree I want the names close unless the sire himself is proven. Like Dats A Frenchman for example...he is a younger stud (early teens) he is a son of Frenchmans guy. He has a lot of nice breeding but I really like what HE throws...if that makes sense lol. But he also is a son by a proven Sire. So I like either the Sire/Dam being the real deal themselves (like being sired by Judge Cash, Dash Ta Fame, Bully Bullion, ect). I am also ok with it being a grand gen....like how JJ is bred...the big names are on the Grandsire/Granddam generation. I am a little more hesitant if it is any further back then that unless the closer generations are proven performers/producers and not just wannabees.
beau159 and 27cfmd like this.

I'll answer my own question. I like a lot of the lines you don't see as much anymore like; Fe Fe Bug, Bugs Alive In 75, Dinky's Redman, Jet Of Honnor, Pie In The Sky, Sticks An Stones, Jet Moon, Rocket Wrangler. Then of course there's Frenchmans Guy, Dash Ta Fame, First Down Dash, Firewater Flit, On The Money Red, Streakin Six, and Bully Bullion. And many more I can't think of. All our horses are grand get, except my colt he doesn't have anything to speak of until the back of his papers. Around in the Midwest you see a lot of Frechmans Guy and Dash Ta Fame horses. That's the big thing now. There's still plenty of other lines, but those two are the most common to hear. Anyone else?

I'm obsessed with DTF horses and Beduino horses. I absolutely love them. I am also in love with Dinkys Redman/Panama Jet crosses.

I have a DR/PJ mare and she is booked to a son of DTF (Streaking Ta Fame) this year. I also used to own her half brother who was a Beduino/Panama Jet cross. Super horses.

Most common in my area are Streakin Six, Frenchmans Guy and DTF.

I refuse to own an OTMR, a Bully Bullion or a heavily bred Streakin Six bred horse. I HATE THEM. LOL

Sam... you know how much I hate OTMR horses

Anyone know if Rare Form is a good barrel sire/grandsire? I know he raced at the track and did quite well. I picked up a yearling last month as a barrel prospect, his dam is by Rare Form
Here is a link to pedigree of the yearling I picked up
