Ok so what I've gathered so far is, to go one handed around the barrel, more of a pocket, and keep my hands lower. I will definately try what you said about pulling the elbow back/up. I'm not to sure what her reaction will be as most of my direction comes from my legs but hey then I just don't have to pull as hard. If anyone has more ideas please let me know. I would love to know other opinions as while I "think" I know what I'm doing I will be the first person to admit I'm wrong.

You use your inside leg and inside rein to bend a horse around the barrel, you don't have to pull hard just keep their nosed tipped in. The more she figures it out the less you'll need to help her.

Also trotting and doing that is the best way to make better turns, and when trotting exagerate your pocket. because they get closer with speed.

good luck, and update us how it goes
