DIY Barrels

Hey,
Has anyone made barrels for barrel racing?
Haha I know it sounds weird, but I don't know how else to exlpain it.
I know you can get, uh, "normal" barrels that are meant for this, but those are really expensive in my area, and I need something a little cheaper. I was thinking maybe basic plastic garbage cans that have been painted, but I wanted to see if anyone else has different ideas.
Thanks!:)

Browse your locate craigslist for food grade 55 gallon barrels.
They're cheap and easy handle. Most will run you $10-15

^^ Agree with the above. I bought black food grade barrels and then took a stencil and spray painted them to make them all fancy. ^_^

My friends made me some kick-a$$ barrels for my birthday last year. I'll take some pictures tomorrow and post them.

THe barrels at the shows we go to are red white and blue.
We buy a blue barrel and wrap a red t-shirt and another white one around them(:

Haha DrumRunner!! XD
We have barrels like that (55g) in this area, but the lowest I could fine (price wise) was about $35, and I don't have enough money to buy three.
Any other suggestions??:/
