Does this horse look like she may be good at barrel racing, pictures!

I have a mare who is about three and a half years old and about 13 hands tall, she can turn on a dime and loves to go fast. I was wondering if she has the build of a barrel racer??

Not the greatest picture to judge from, but she looks to have a pretty decent body build can't really tell much on the legs though. :)

Conformation is how far the horse CAN go,
Mind is how far the horse WILL go,
Training is how far it DOES go.

Hi Marie.

First of all, if you want us to give you a good critique, you've got to at least give us a good photo. That's a terrible conformation picture. No, I don't see any glaring issues from it, but it would be much better to get a photo of her from each side, with her standing square, as well as a front and back shot.

If she's 3 1/2 and only 13 hands, chances are she will be too small to be (let's say) a pro rodeo horse. Not to say she can't excel at another level, or make a nice kids pony, but she would need to be bigger (minimum 14 hands) to possibly be competitive at bigger levels.

Can't tell much from the picture but any horse can be good at something if you're willing to invest the time and effort into training him.

As others said take better photos. But I wanted to say don't let her size stop you, she's only 3 she'll grow a little more. I know to many 1D little horses and know a few highly competitive ponies that easily run with the horses and outrun alot of them, at the big shows against upper level horses.

She doesn't like to stand still so it's hard to get good pictures but you guys are right, if I want you guys to be able to tell at all I need to get some better ones. She is short but she can turn on a dime and loves to go fast. She is not a pony she is a Morgan horse. I have no doubts that she will be capable of keeping up with the others. Thanks for the answers so far and I'll take your guys advice on the pictures.
