OK so for those of you who dont know him, Dozer is a 6yo 18hh PMU horse. I didn't get him from the PMU farm I bought him from somewhere else so he is not a rescue. Since I got him he has had a lot of training. He could not walk up or down hills calmly. Only run or crow hop up and down. Fun huh? He also couldnt canter calmly, didnt know leg cues, and had no clue what personal space was. With the help of my trainer we have fixed all of those problems and taught him leg cues, better stop, better go, flexibility, and tighter turns. I think he is ready. The last two gymkhanas we have only walked the course because I love the horses that can walk in, out, and if asked throughout the whole course. He can now. He ran away with me a few times but yea now he is understanding. I think this gymkhana we might actually go faster than a walk  (Sorry for the novel!!!)
Here are some pics. I think I only have one or two on this computer of us actually doing barrels but there will be more eventually!

This is us warming up

Running away with me. I think he didnt go through the comes so we dq'ed...

My trainer's hubby on him for the gymkhana group ride to McDonalds

And for the last one, just dozer being Dozer :) The little guy is my other baby Bart. He is a 19yo,12hh grade pony. <3

Yea we had a group of twenty or so gymkhana riders go. If you guys want I can attach the link to the website. There are hundreds of pictures of the ride on there! It was funny when we asked McDonalds for their permission in advance they decided to make it their grand re-opening because they had just remodeled! Ahaah

Ugh... well today could have gone better. The first event(out of five) was by far the worst that I have experienced.
So, my trainer has been pointing out worn out places on my saddle that are wearing away to my dad. Well, he felt no urgent need to have anything done to fix it.
Ok, so first event, we have been walking the courses for a while. Today I felt that we could handle partial trotting. We walked up to the first pole, trotted over to the second pole, started to walk home when Dozer suddenly took off runing. Why? Because the stupid judge started yelling 'go faster' and making noises. I have taught Dozer walk, trot, and canter verbally along with sounds so when he heard faster he understood... What happened was, He ran out of control towards the gate, somehow the latigo broke, he jumped the cone, I stayed in the saddle and i flew off with it. The saddle landed near me. At least I think... Well, I had a hard time getting up but my dad helped me, all I have now is a broken saddle and a sore butt/lower back. Dozer however was able to calmly walk the remaning four courses and Bart did fine like always.
