Great tribute to Beau.

And not every horse that gets severe arthritis is because they are "used up" My 5 year old, who I've rode a total of 5 times, has SEVERE arthritis and bone degenerating due to a well placed kick. She's on IM injections, oral supplements and I may never be able to ride her. So...sh*t happens.

I for one, am all for putting a horse in chronic pain down. When a horse can barely walk and is always uncomfortable, its time. You made the right choice.

Thanks CLaPorte432.

So sorry to hear about your 5-year-old. It's especially frustrating when you don't even get to ride a potentially great horse. I at least did get some amazing years out of Beau. I hope you at least get a few with your horse.

Brittany you did the right thing, and the best for Beau. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Have to admit, I teared up a little.. It was a fantastic tribute to Beau, very well done and really shows how much you loved him and how good of a horse he was.

LOL whatever! I sent you my sympathy as it hurts to put a horse down. I was glad to see you had the decency not to send him to slaughter. And yes, I am not retracting my statement. You take it how you want. He was no long sound to ride, USED UP is a term I used and use. You were going to send him to auction like your mother did and don't anyone tell me how my mother was heartless. She got $700 to buy a new horse.

Don't care if you are over it. Never asked you to be. Just glad to see you did right by him unlike your suggestion about sending him to the auction. :) As far as your pm. Somethings aren't worthy of my time nor do I feel the need to kick someone when they are down. ;)

Sincerely
Wicked

Really Wicked?

I find your posts on THIS thread a little disrespectful and rude. That is uncalled for and I am sure you wouldn't like it one bit if you were grieving and somebody came on here and starting bash talking on here.
SorrelHorse and Aesthetic like this.

Conformation is how far the horse CAN go,
Mind is how far the horse WILL go,
Training is how far it DOES go.

I expressed my sympathy and will do so again and leave this thread with that thought :)

Really?? I'm pretty sure that's what you're doing now. You have absolutely NO RIGHT to jump on her like you have.

Like we all tell so many others on the forum. Not your horse, not your business.. I realize this is an open forum but have the decency, if you're able to, to know when to walk away. Your posts here speak loudly about your character, I've had issues with you before but you've lost absolutely all of my respect for you. It's ridiculous.

Really? You are going to tell me I was not worthy of your time, yet you take the time to come back and kick me some more when I am down? Because that is exactly what you did on the aforementioned thread, and that is what you are doing now. This is precisely why I hadn't said anything about Beau on these boards up until now. I figured a couple of the kickers might find it and return to the kicking match.

And if I am not worthy of your time (just because you do not have the decency to respect a different opinion), I sure am not going to waste my time reading your PM you just sent me. Nor am I going to continue wasting my time trying to get someone to understand how rude and hurtful they are being, when they clearly just don't get it.

People took that slaugher comment way out of proportion.

I will openly admit I have thought about taking Selena behind the barn and shooting her and feeding her to the dogs multiple times in an angry moment. And Ruger? Don't even get me started. He drug me face first in the pouring down rain through the mud the other day. I thought up the most creative ways to kill him in that five seoncds before I got ahold of him again.

Would I EVER do that really though? No, god no, never in a million years. Is the thought appeasing while I'm angry at her/him? Of course it is. It's natural human emotion. I think about killing a lot of people though too, but I don't.

I'm so sorry to ehar about this though, Beau. You really did do the right thing. I'm sorry that some people have problems keeping out of others business.

Pssh.I didn't pick up the wrong lead
It's called a counter canter...
...A very advanced maneuver.

Sorrel, there are just some people are there that are just that: Some people. It's sad, really.

So here's my little "memory wall" for Beau, if you want to call it that, lol. Including his halter, and a large braid from his HUGE long tail.

This is a watercolor painting I recieved from a doctor I did an internship with last year. He only will paint to donate to charity fundraisers .... but every intern that comes to their clinic leaves with a painting! He did it from this photo: (clearly didn't include my mother in it)

To create this for me:

And the rest of the wall:
