Well with truck malfunction(locked the keys inside the loaner truck we are using) we missed time onlys. So waited till after everyone ran and then took sugar out to work the pattern a little. Had little bit of yeehaw jumps our first attempt and then he was all good and ran like a champ. I am way more confident about next weekend now :).

Ya we ran him at gymkhana but never really pushed much. This time I actually asked for a little speed to the first and he was an angel. I love this gelding he can be a little bucker but it is usually if he isn't warmed up enough and well that's my fault and he's just brutally honest haha. He is 14 and I've never seen him prance till today it was the funniest thing ever, he is really hard to get excite cause he is so 'I don't care' attitude wise.

So my both my trainers mares did well her main girl a palomino mare ran a 16.975 and was just out of the money. Her buckskin ran a 17 something and was also just out of the money but that was her fastest run I believe to date after not seeing barrels for 3 months. I only entered novice on sugar as I didn't know how he'd do today and he did very well. He is fat and I didn't set him up right to the first on top of me holding him back a little as his first he can be weird on. However his second and third he whipped around and showed me a gear I hadn't yet seen on our way home. So with a few rider errors and out of shapeness we ran a low 19. He has so much more to give I am just still figuring him out and wasn't ready to really push him to first/second .
Next race is may 25 though so have a month to tweak and perfect :)

Good job :) and thank you. Haha this was only his second time out in a few months and his first time being actually asked to run at an nbha. I'm very proud of him, I have an old bad habit of turning my toes out and squeezing ( from the Arab I used to ride to stay on haha) and I for some reason kept doing it in our time onlys which made him buck but thank god I didn't during the acrual run lol. The fastest time I believe was a 16.18.
