Fleur de lis?

I use to run along time ago,and I don't remember it being the way it is now with all the fashion or maybe it was just me! LOL. My daughter is just starting to get into it,and i'v noticed that everything is very, should I say "blingy" now days.... and I am wondering whats with the fleur de lis? Why is it sooooo popular now days and on everything? Why is it kinda synonymous with barrel racers. Does anyone know?

The same way side-swept bangs are the IN thing right now for hairstyles. It's a trend. It'll change in the future.

Or the way neon colors are coming back into style (personally .... ICK).

Barrel racing is currently trending toward bling, and lots of it.

Just fashion. Personally I prefer today's blingy pants to the colorful high waisted jeans I remember wearing when I was little. Tack is quite a bit more expensive now though.

Ha HA HA That is so funny I remember those pants too, in fact we go shopping now days and I keep asking myself why can't I just find a store that sells plain old colored wranglers....Now days even the clothes are too expensive for my taste,You just can't buy a nice pair of boot cut riding jeans they alll got bling for a Extra $60 on the price tag. Like the jeans, but not willing to pay that price for a pair of school jeans or riding jeans.

Thanks everyone for the responses.... that clears it up for me, I had a suspicion it was just a fade and now I know, thanks

Lol I remember shopping for my 3 outfits for state show, all involved colored wranglers and matching shirts. I wish I had the pictures , bright yellow wranglers and matching plaid shirt is all I remember haha. That's been around 10 years ago right before they went out of style

There was a article about this in the December Barrel Horse News issue! When barrel racing was becoming more popular fashion and blingy shirts/tack was something that drew people in. Seeing the "pretty" barrel racers at the rodeos was a big thing! This year in the NFR they had the $5000 bonus for best dressed. It can expensive if you fall into the traps of too blingy things! Alot of fun stuff you can make your self for a lot cheaper! I personally love that the sport is so open and creativity and color isn't looked down on! It is just one more thing to draw people in to barrel racing!

I personally love me some bling...Admittedly though, I'd rather do it in a class that isn't based only on the clock! When I go into my reining class with my headstall and breastcollar and show shirt, I want my judges to be blinded.

Not really but it's a nice thought isn't it?

I love bling lol! For me the more bling the better...I wish I had the matching headstall to JJs red LL breast collar...because he wears that like a stud muffin and knows he looks good. Well I guess he does that no matter what he has on because of his over flowing jock cocky ego lol!

Ling Ling likes some Bling Bling lol!
