Got a new saddle!

So I've had the same saddle for about 10 years now. I've actually had it longer then I have had my current horse. When I got Willow it fit. But over the years of her growing and filling out, it doesn't fit anymore. So the hunt was on for a new one. I brought tons home to try and the only one that I found that fit was a crates saddle. But it was brand new and I just couldn't afford the $2000 price tag right now. So I started looking for a used one. Jumped on craigslist last week and found an almost new hardly been used Meleta Brown freedom barrel saddle. went and checked it out. For an excellent price (half of a new one. the lady sold me the saddle a wool pad, a wool girth a rear cinch and a breast collar. I will take pictures another day. Just had to share because I was so excited.

How interesting. I just got a trial saddle from Meleta herself last night to try on my horse and see how it fits him.

It is not enough to know how to ride; one must know how to fall.

beau Its a really nice saddle. I really like the rigging. I didn't think I would like running in it because its a lower cantle then I'm used to. My Billy cook had a really high back and I got so used to that. But I'm really liking this saddle. I took it on a two hour trail ride yesterday and was comfortable the whole time.

Very cool! Saddle hunting is such a pain, but it's great when you find that one that fits right. It looks like a great saddle, I'm happy for ya:)
