I'm glad you both are okay. I've seen that happen once before at the Mesquite Rodeo. Definitely a scarey ordeal to go through. Kudos to you for handling it so well.

Well, today we are quite sore.

My left arm is very sore and stiff. Poor Nut is stiff in his neck. Like I had expected. But he nickered at me when I went to check on him this morning. He didn't want to turn his neck either way but didn't seem to be agitated when I palpated his neck/withers/back/hips. So that's a plus.

I was so close to having this on video too. I told my bf to only video record me on Rumor, not to worry about Nutmeg. That would have been crazy. Although I would have liked to have seen it happen.
Waiting to hear back from 2 different Chiros. Its Sunday after all.

That's me too...I'd kill to have my falls or mistakes on video so I could see them and see what happened!

I'm glad he seems to be feeling okay, and hopefully a chiro will get back to you soon.

Very scary, glad you're both mostly okay.
If he's that stiff and unable to move his neck.. and by the description of the torsion injury.. I'd be calling a vet for a once over, myself.

Not sure what a vet would be able to do in this situation besides say 'rest him' and give him pain medication. A chiropractor will be able to do more for him then my vet would right now. We don't skimp on vet care. (not saying that that's what your implying) but a chiropractor checking him over is better then my vet at this point.

If he needs a vet, he'll have one.

Wow, it's always horrifying when something like that happens. So glad that neither one of you was seriously hurt.

You handled it superbly and, even though I know it's hard not to feel guilty, it was purely an accident. Those things happen. It's how you respond to them that matters and you did great.
