Help! How do I start barrel racing?

I'm extremely interested in getting into barrel racing, but I have absolutely no idea where to start. I'm a sixteen year old girl. I don't have any horses. I do have experience riding. I live in the Seattle, Washington. Are there beginner classes? Do I need to find a trainer myself? Am I the only one in this scenario? Should I get a horse first? Or find lessons?

Thanks!:)

Find a trainer with lessons first, then get a good experienced horse that will take care of you:)

Definitely lessons first, then you and the trainer/coach can get to know each other and s/he can help you find a horse suited to your needs and hopefully match you with a horse that'll be great for you.. Definitely go into it knowing that it will take time and don't get discouraged when you're not instantly good at it. It just takes practice and being dedicated to it..
