Help Me Pick A Saddle Please! :)

I have been getting super tired of all the pink, I have heard some good things about ChickSaddlery so I thought I would give it a try!! :)

I know there are plenty of better saddles, but I can just not afford anything more expensive. I appreciate the fact that you are giving me your opinion that something may be better, but I would like you to pick your favourite out of these choices. Thank you!

I WOULD LOVE IF YOU COULD TELL ME WHAT YOU DO & DON'T LIKE ABOUT EACH SADDLE!!! :)

Without further a do, here are my favourites:

#1: King Series Comp Barrel Saddle - $449
Saddles Tack Horse Supplies - ChickSaddlery.com King Series Competition Barrel Saddle
#2: Circle P Barrel Saddle with Alligator Seat - $549
Saddles Tack Horse Supplies - ChickSaddlery.com Circle P Barrel Saddle with Alligator Seat
#3: Circle P Barrel Saddle with Floral Seat - $499
Saddles Tack Horse Supplies - ChickSaddlery.com Circle P Barrel Saddle with Floral Seat
#4: Nash Saddlery Bear Valley Barrel Saddle - $575
Saddles Tack Horse Supplies - ChickSaddlery.com Nash Saddlery Bear Valley Barrel Saddle
#5: Nash Saddlery Buffalo Barrel Racing Saddle - $559
Saddles Tack Horse Supplies - ChickSaddlery.com Nash Saddlery Buffalo Barrel Racing Saddle

Let me know if you have any other websites that you have ordered from (around these prices) and have been happy with the product.

I've never used any of those brands..but the last two look like they're made really cheap and not good quality..

You'd probably be better off saving your money a little longer for like a KO like mine or a Corriente.. Looking for a brand name used saddle is even better, in most situations, than buying a cheap new saddle made of low quality materials..

I'm a huge supporter and pusher of the KO saddles..Holly and I both ride in them and love them..They aren't a whole lot more than what you're wanting to spend, are customized to your tastes and are made of high quality materials.. Much better than the ones posted above..

Honestly, with the price range of the saddles you posted, I'd look for a good brand name (Circle Y, Billy Cook ect.) used saddle for the same amount of money. If you have facebook, there's a group called "Barrel Racing Tack Swap" and lots of people sell nice used saddles there.

I agree with Drum. Those saddles are pretty low end. Although if it fits your horse, go for it. Problem is, you don't know if they'll fit.

They had the floral seat circle P one at a tack store and I really liked the look of it but the seat was REALLY hard. You'd probably have to get a seat cover or something.

And as for the circle P's I have a friend who just recently had to get a new saddle because she hated her circle p. I didn't fit her horse at all. It may just have been her horse because different saddles fit differently on other horses but it's hard to know because they're online. Just thought I would warn you about the circle P's

When I was looking for a new saddle, I went he used route and was able to try out 4. I can't remember the brand of one, but it was reallly cheap. It was however, almost brand new and was only $350. I lifted up the jockeys and saw that the fenders were stapled together. So was much of the other components. STAPLED. I didn't even put that saddle on my horse.

I have tried the used route, so far I am having absolutely no luck. I tried one yesterday & they wanted $800 for the EXACT same one as #3 and it wasnt even in that good of a condition.

I have been looking a lot for used brand name saddles and so far: nothing.

Can someone critique the saddles just from the price/pictures? Which one would you pick if you had to?

what size are you looking for ? here is a good deal on a circle y in your price range. 14" Used Circle Y Barrel Racing Saddle uscy2112,
those brands may work for you but I wouldnt pay full retail for them, you can pick them up at auctions and various used sights all day long for $100. Those brands just dont hold their value well. If you want new I'd look at the American saddlery in your price range. They are pretty decent bang for the buck saddles. Barrel Racing Saddles

Not trying to be rude, just honest..but I'd pass on all if them..and save up the little extra money needed to get something like a Corriente or a KO.. A saddle isn't just something you can buy cheap.
