1RedHorse, yeah good point! Haha. I was disappointed to notice that the video in the round pen was just 2 months ago. I was hoping that was a while ago. I guess there just isn't a whole lot out here. Maybe I will just have to wait or look somewhere else and have to ship. Thanks again for your input. If anyone has recommendations on where to find good barrel horses let me know! I am not having any luck here.

Thirteen acres, thanks for sharing what you saw and input. If the horse was a lot cheaper I might consider it more. It is always good to hear the different ways people start and run a pattern!

Okay I can't help myself, Red Horse, what do you think?

Ps I swear I am not looking for the $7500 price tag. It is just a coincidence.

I like her most out of the three you've posted..I don't like that she's a grade, but I'm a big pedigree person.. I'm not sure that I'd pay that much for a grade. I like her running style though, it seems like she does slow down a little on the way home. I wish there were other videos.

Sorry - I don't have much time to say more..

I just talked with the owner for a while. She is running her and just did this week in ID I guess. She says she is definitely a 1D/2D horse. She ran in some big shows in Florida with her first owner I guess in NBHA finals too. She is sending me more pictures and information. She says she does better for her if she does a warm before running because she is a bit faster than her. She says that she runs pretty easy and doesn't need a lot of pull, though sometimes she has to remind her that she isn't running on her own. She says she can use a snaffle but also uses a chain with a small shank. She says she does great going straight in no issues. She said she did some slow work to get her to let her (the rider) catch up and not think she has to always go all out.
I like that she is using her and that she is in shape. I could meet her at one of the races she is going to next week.

Agreed with Drum. She would be decent at some low level things, but I don't like her attitude. I don't like how she looks pushy and disrespectful of the rider. She is also bracing too much in the face for my liking.

But you know this is coming from me who refuses to have a barrel horse without reining training. I get really riled up when someone gets a hot horse like that who can't just bloody walk the pattern, they have to jig and jump around and blow out of their barrels. In that first video the horse was too busy being pushy and bracey so it looked like she wasn't really minding her rider.

Maybe the horse is worth the time, maybe not, but not worth the money IMO.

Okay guys after some more searching this girl who I was interested in but was supposed to be sold just came available again (Not sure why yet).

Smart Barbie - Glory Reigns Ranch

I would love any input. I am waiting on videos. She has not run at any races, she has been patterned starting this year and is currently being worked by a barrel trainer. Price on her is $3500. Drumrunner I thought you would like her bloodlines with Dash for Cash.

OR this 12 year old mare. No videos or times from the current owner as she only casually raced her a few times, but seems nice all around and a good price ($3500). Might be a little more my speed. Could tune her up and try her out a few races? Might go see her.

Okay this is the one I really really want!
DreamHorse.com Horse ID: 1797279 - Eternal Sonnydee Lady

I could see her on my way through MT (going home to see family). I don't know that I want to haul my trailer around the state while on vacation or ship her. I haven't shipped a horse before so I am not sure about it but I am looking into how much it would be.
