Go to shows and ask around, most people don't advertise.

The easiest way is to find a trainer to teach you. I was born into a family of barrel racers so I can't comment much on that.

My parents bought me the Charmayne James barrel Legends book. GReat book! Still look at it. A trainer isnt really necisary if you know the basics. The book tells you EEVERYTHING. My sister and me do really well in barrels and we have only went to one clinic.. 4 years ago.

What I did was wing it the first time...I had no idea what I was doing. I just listened to what my friends told me how the pattern and went for it,lol. I take lessons now but wingging it got me hooked and it's the best sport ever !
