Talking How are we doin'?(:

This is my barrel horse, Duke and I at our most recent jackpot. We ran our fastest times in every event. We're constantly getting sooo much better! Lemme know what all you other barrel racers think!

Well it's not zoomed enough to really see your position but you guys look great to me! Really work on finishing those turns though, makin' them snappy!

Pssh.I didn't pick up the wrong lead
It's called a counter canter...
...A very advanced maneuver.

He looks good, but in barrels work on finishing your second barrel and heading straight to the third barrel and straight back home, finish both the second and third barrels. Your taking the long way which is adding more seconds to your time. Just do slow work at a trot and over exaggerate finishing the barrels, once your leg is clear of the second barrel put your outside foot and use your outside rein like a leg yield to move him over so he's going straight at the third before going into your pocket. Do the same with the third barrel, head for the rail after it. Make him move over then continue trotting towards and up the rail so your right back to where you can start again. Do that a few times and he should learn. Your pole run was great though.

I would back down to trot work on the barrels and move back up slowly until he can turn them AMD head straight to the next barrel with his eyes closed.

I know it gets exciting, and you want to run. But do you want those kind of runs, or do you want perfect runs? If you keep letting him run the pattern like that he will never be correct. Slow it down and be patient. Hope I am not coming across as harsh, just giving my honest opinion. Good luck!
