Introducing my upcoming barrel horse...

I did already post this in Horse Talk, Meet...My new horse. :-D, but I'd like to post her here too.

I bought this mare on on July 31st. And she's even better then I thought. She's doing so well and impressing me every day. She hasn't consistently been worked with over the years. But she has such a sweet personality, a calm easy-going disposition and she is naturally athletic.

My future goals with this girl are to make her into an incredible barrel/pole mare. It's going to take time, but she's only 5 so it's perfect timing.

She's broke to ride, w/t/c, whoa, back. But that's about it. I'm taking her to my trainers on the 13th. Trainer is going to focus on leg responses (she's a point and kick horse, she needs refinement under saddle) and I want some reining training under her before I work with her on barrels.

She has been ridden at shows. She has been started on patterns, but she needs work. So that's what I'll be doing this fall/winter to prepare us for next years show reason. She obviously isn't going to be ready for quite awhile but that's okay.

Her registered name is Lil Bit Illegal (adorable huh?) but I call her Rumor. She's approximately 15/15.1 hands. Brown. Appendix Quarter Horse.

What do you other barrel racers think of her?

I'm no barrel racer, but she is a very nice looking mare. I like her both under tack & without. Congrats on finding such a nice mare.

It is not enough to know how to ride; one must know how to fall.

I really like her! I know everyone always says "Oh what a pretty face", she definitely has one, and a face that's full of facial expressions and smart look..All around she's a nice looking mare. I hope you keep up the good work with her and she works out to be awesome for you!
