Just starting out....

Hello, im just starting out on barrels. This may be a dumb question but how do you find competitions around your area, and get into being in more.. thanks for help in advance

If you're still in school (not college) you can ask your 4h agent about it. If not, ask any horse friends you have..Is there a local arena around where you live? Go and ask them for a show schedule. You can also try looking online..Once you find out a system it's pretty easy to find shows.

Check in the paper or local horse publications for fun show information. Then check out NBHA and other organizations to see if they have any district shows close to you.

If you have any tack shops around, I'd go there and ask or look for any papers that might have or check bulletin boards. You can also join NBHA, which might be your best bet.

We have horse newspaper that you can pick up at any of the tack shops around here. It has all the horse related events & schedules listed in it for our region.
