Lets see YOUR pole runs :)

So we have all posted about barrel runs and yada yada but I haven't really seen a thing for Poles. So if your horse does the poles lets share shall we?

JJ (this was his first time running the poles)

BB- Still in the training process, this was his exhibition run and didn't get his cruising run on tape which was a 26.??

And scrat who I have started on the poles but am not seriously putting more time on him in the poles. And in this video he hadn't been worked on the poles since last summer lol....spur of the moment deal and decided to take him through.

Gidget and barrelbeginner like this.

This is Gidget's first time with me..She has done it in the past but not for over 2 yrs...she did pretty good. I thought I did pretty good for never doing it in my life. I never even practiced it....I mean,I look stupid but it was fun! Wish I didn't knock down the pole.

This was for a fund raiser for a girl needing a blood tranfusion.

You should!..it's a lot of fun..kinda tricky if you have a hot horse but if you have total control(which I recommend) than you should be fine. Just do a lot of trotting and slowly pick up speed once your horse gets use to it. If you aren't able to afford poles..I can't! Then save up some coffee cans, buy some cement mix and pvc pipes and viola!

I've never seen this before! Are you supposed to go as fast as you can without knocking over a pole? Are you supposed to get lead changes in between the poles too?? My horse would probably flop over in the dirt. Hahahaha! This is really cool!

Oxer- nope you just run as fast as you can to get a good time! No knocking poles, and you have to start on a certain side as well :)

No you can start on either side of the poles. There is no right or wrong way...just like with the barrels.
