    Need barrel racing advice.

I've been barrel racing for about 5 years now. I havent been doing big barrel races just close ones to my area, but I started high school rodeo this year and have been traveling a little. I've been hitting barrels constantly. I started over and went slow (walk, trot, and loping). When I go slow we do good patterns and don't hit anything, but when we full out run is when we hit barrels. Any ideas on what I can do?

In order to really see the problem a video would be needed. It could be a million in one things.

Agree that a video would be helpful to see exactly what's going on.

    A few ideas:
Are you looking AT the barrel when you turn? You should be looking at the dirt where you want to travel.
Are you pulling your horses nose to the outside to try to keep him off the barrel? You never want to do that because it will cause your horse to drop its shoulder and hit the barrel.
On that topic, make sure your horse isn't dropping a shoulder.
Are you asking your horse to turn too soon? The horse will usually "panic" by hitting the barrel or by running past the barrel to avoid it.
