    Oppinions? Barrel Prospect

    I have been looking at this horse for a while now, and have been emailing her owner back and forth. I would like your opinion on her:) She just turned two and while the pictures aren't wonderful, I think it looks like she will for sure fill out in her fore arm, shoulders, and hindquarters, as her daddy did. She is 14.3 hands, which some may think is short for a barrel racer, but I prefer them shorter anyways. Owner thinks she may fill out around 14.5 hands. Her name is Fancy Oreo Chic, in case anyone wants to view her pedigree. Some names that stood out to me were Megahertz and Sonny Dee Bar. She is not foundation bred, and I know there is some controversy over which is better, so that's part of the reason I'd like some opinions. The first three pictures are of her, the third is of her sire, Jags Moonlighter. Let me know what you think:)

    14.5 isn't a height it goes from 14.3h to 15h.
    Their measured in 4 inch increments..
    I like her from what I can see but in the first pic her hind end looks funny, but I'm thinking it's just that picture.
    She has a very straight shoulder.
    She sure is pretty.

    That's why it sounded so weird! They for sure said 14.5 hands on the email, I remember because I had to double check. I was typing it and I was thinking "I have never heard of a horse that is 14.5 hands...but if they say so...." Haha, I'll have to email them about that. Until I find out, I'll just say I don't know how big she will be when she fills out, but I know her grand sire (the one racing) was 14.3 hands.

    Her pasterns are a little longer than I would like, but I'm still waiting on replies.

    Can you get better pictures perhaps where she is squared up? There can't be much told by just those pictures.

    Lol it's actually always bothered me when people say 14.5 or 14.4 and so on. I don't know why. It used to just confuse me. I guess it makes me feel like the people don't know what their talking about.
    Makes me wonder if the seller knows much about horses?

    Same here. I requested pictures of her squared up from the front, back, and both sides, but when the person responded they said they couldn't send me pictures because they were advertising for a friend.The other thing that seems a little fishy is that in the ad, it says "with proper feeding and worming will make an awesome barrel/pole horse with her breeding." With proper worming? I thought that was with all horses. I plan on calling to get the details worked out because the whole thing seems weird to me, so I just wanted some opinions before I called. So far I've been told she has a straight shoulder, and I personally think she has straight pasterns and from what I can see her hocks are set a little higher than I'd like. I like the length of her back and neck, and don't ask me why but she looks like she has a good head about her. I couldn't tell you why I think this, I just do:)

    With proper feeding and worming? What she doesn't look wormy or skinny? I'd call she looks nice. If she isn't too far away I'd go take a look at her to see her conformation in person.
    Only flaws I can tell from the pics are that her hind pasterns may be a little longer than I'd like, her straight shoulder, and possibly an odd hind end.
    Sorry I can't be more help.

    The pictures are not great. The only thing I can tell is that she has a steeper shoulder and longer pasterns.

    It makes me very leery when a seller won't give me the nice photos that I want. Or when they say 14.5 hands. There's no such thing. Those type of things don't sit right with me when I'm looking for a horse. And it's easy to be picky in today's market as there are so many horses available.

    Can you post her pedigree on allbreedpedigree.com? Then we can view it.
