She's been on the track for 6 years? Be prepared for extensive retraining if so.

The horses I've worked with we're only in the track for a year or so and they were difficult.

She doesn't look like a turner or rater so keep that in mind. REALLY teach her who's and collection....the biggest problem I've had in the past is OTT horses becoming strung out in their turns so watch that.

She's beautiful but I agree fatten her up :)

She's used to a high starch diet....I'd slowly switch her over to a low starch high fat/fiber diet. Shell really fatten up and be healthier/quieter.

I'll bear that in mind if I ever get an OTTB. lol I've been keeping my eye on the girls facebook page in case she gets any others, even though I know I shouldn't take on another one. LOL.

This mare is primarily a dressage horse. She's a dream to ride when you have her working right for you and will give you perfect half passes, leg yields, and lead changes with the slightest shift in your weight. However, she's also amazingly fast and agile on her feet and can turn on a dime, so I've been coaching her some on the barrels. She placed up there with the best of them at our county fair last year....her first time ever loping the pattern. At home, we'd only ever walked and trotted the pattern.

I am not a fan of the "lean" and "fine boned" TB, but I adore a QH/TB cross that has more stock in em'.......but that's just me.

I have ridden a few and liked a little less....I think it is all personal preferences.
I would not take a 2nd look at her for barrels.....something in an english discipline, maybe.

She looks like she would be great for the Pendleton Round up XD Screw turning, just run and worrying about turning later!

I had an off the track QH...he wasn't built like any QH or TB I have ever seen. But MAN was he fast. Maybe get an off the track QH? I can't figure out for the life of me where you can get them...

Our track races QHs, Appies, and TBs. They might have done arabs but I don't think they do anymore. It's not a big track but most people around here get their OTTB/QH/Appys here.
