Rumor has been doing so great in her training. I'm super pleased. She's soft in the face. Is responding well to leg cues. Slowly increasing canter work (in straight lines) and slowly getting her to use her hindend.
Her back is long so it's harder to get the backend underneath her. And with her hock issues, I am not going to do anything too strenuous at this point. I'm trying to get her to whip around on her hindend, but it's not a true rollback. More like having her circle and then snap around. Not slam on the brakes and come back over herself on the same line. (If that makes any sense)
She is very flexible and I love how much bend she is giving me. And she KNOWS the barrel pattern. She knows where to go, when to turn and is completing her turn very well considering all the obstacles that have jumped up in our path.
Here are 2 videos from tonight. I am able to TROT a FULL pattern! And it makes me so so so happy! It's not flawless. We need work. I
NEED WORK. I need to rely on my legs more and stop pulling her face around. Tonight she actually had some areas around the "barrels" where she really dug in and tore up the area.
Wednesday April 30th, Rumor goes for her hock XRay to see where we stand with her hock. And I'm 99% sure I'm going to have her hock injected. I'm willing to do anything that is going to make her comfortable.
First show we are going to be heading to is May 3rd. There will be a TON of pictures!
