Rain Rain Go Away!

The ground is wet, and there is more rain on the way until tomorrow. So I guess I'll be at home instead of riding:(

Wish we could take some off your hands. I live north of Dallas TX just south of the OK border and we got our first 1/2 in of rain just the other day since the beginning of September (so almost 4 months now) but the ground is sooo dry that all this did was moisten the top layer of dirt so when the horses take a step, this dirt sticks to their feet and unveils pure dust underneath. It's so bad that even our very easy to grow winter rye has not even tried to come up since planting in September. And there's no relief in sight. It's getting very scary.

Completely understand! From the middle of October till about a week ago.....RAIN. Now it is SNOW! Ugh..but I bet the horses are happy because now they don't have to be sludging through the mud 24/7.

We usually get a little bit of rain in the fall but not that much...ugh it was TERRIBLE! And now we have snow...I was really wanting a brown Christmas lol but I guess mother nature got tired of listing to people complain about NOT having a white Christmas...well here is your wonderful 4 inches and more to come lol, so NO complaining folks!

I remember Texas dust storms. That does stink when its all too dry.
The middle north states are getting dumped on alot too. This winter sucks for all. I am also ready for spring!

Ah. This is why I don't miss living in Oregon with rain for 9 months out of the year.

However, I'm still not riding, as snow and ice and cold tempertures in North Dakota make it tricky to ride safely!! (Mostly that ice component)
