RS Custom Saddles?

I'm thinking about ordering one. I know someone who has one, so I want to look at it and try it out before ordering one from soooo far away. I just want to know if anyone has had any experience with them...

I'm too cheap... and at least I can try out an RS Custom before I order one. My boss has one.

Trained
I've never ridden in one but they seem fairly decent. Ryon started with plain jane training saddles and is branching into other styles. I forget who actually makes them for him.

I know. They look well made for their price! And the one my boss has is used, and it looks like it's in great shape, so I guess I'll see how it fits my horse and myself and then order the round skirt one. All of the barrel saddles probably have the same tree, so fit shouldn't change.

Showing
The blackish rawhide on the horn troubles me. Rawhide is white. When I see this, I makes me wonder as to where the saddle was made, likely not US or Canada. Saddles can be made to look pretty but sometimes the hardware is of poor quality, or the tree, or the "rawhide" covering the tree. Nothing I'd consider buying. One big flaw, the fenders are set too far back.

That's the extra 100 bucks that I'd be spending on shipping...

What about the fenders on these?

I don't care for the fender placement at all.

The fenders seem way to far back to me. Seems like it would be hard to keep your feet under you the way they are placed.
