I use a barrel racing saddle pretty much like ^^^^^that one for western riding and I don't even barrelrace & it's comfy. I don't trail ride in it though, just school western in it. Reason I bought it - because a barrel saddle is light & I have a tall horse. My silver show saddle is a monster & weighs probably 70lbs. Anyways the one you are looking at is a nice saddle in my opinion & looks light, I will trade it for my barrel saddle. I dunno though, might be just me, but I always get the proper equipment for the job, so if I were barrel racing, I'd buy a barrel saddle.

Thanks everyone for your opinions my search for a saddle is just beginning, I sat in a circle y trail saddle at my local tack shop and I totally fell in love but it was a little out of my price range thanks

I have never ridden in anything as comfortable as my Tucker! I have had this saddle for about 8 years and love it. Tucker Cheyenne Springs Trail Saddle

Hm well, my saddle has a low front and low back, so I don't really think I rely on it at all.

If you want to barrel race, then stick with the saddle made for that. Maybe buy a seat cushion to use for trail rides.
