Well I can say that Sand Cup was a MARATHON...OMG every night we didn't get to bed till after 1:30. It drug on forever!
Friday- JJ ran a 17.7 and worked good, a bit ratey going into 3rd. Scrat...well lets just say his jockey needs to pull her head out of her bottom lol! I did WAY to much sitting and not enough driving into the barrels. He is a very ratey horse and has a stiff rollback style. So I REALLY have to make sure he is deep before I let him come back around. On 1st I needed to be a stride deeper, and I lifted my leg so dropped my stirrup and couldn't get it back...in which I sat WAY to soon for 2nd and we got it good lol.
Saturday- JJ ran a 17.5 and once again worked super great, just a bit ratey on 3rd. And Scrat did very good, ran a 18.6! Rode him deep into his pockets!
Sunday- JJ ran a faster 17.5 and worked awesome, a lot freer. Scrat ran a 19.2, but man did he have trouble! Poor guy stumbled 6 times! Once going into 1st, once going into 3rd he slipped, once to 3rd, and the rest on the way home. But he tried his heart out!
So not the fastest, but they were only ran 3 times before the weekend so not a lot of air. They usually have quite a few more runs under them before the first big race. But they worked great, and both ran consistently! Now we are going to get ready for the next one this weekend!
