Shows start in may around here. So, not too long. Gives us lots of time to work out all of the kinks! Lol

I have a question.... Which is faster? 1D, 2D or 3D?

Horses are scared of two things... Things that move and things that don't.

1D, then 2D is a half second off, 3D is a second and 4D is 2 seconds. Unless is only a 3D class then 2D is a second off and 3D is 2 seconds off.

It's really not! I promise! Lol Say that the fastest time of the night was a 15.0. That's where the 1D starts. So, the 2D would start at 15.5, the 3D would start at 16.0, 4D would start at 16.5, and the 5D would be 17.0. (If they're running a 5D race. That's usually just for the bigger shows though.) It really just depends on what the fastest time of the night is. Does this make any sense?

Strength lies within the heart but the strength to trust lies between the horse and his rider.

So the race is a 4d (splits would be-1/2, 1/2, 1 second split) .....and the 1D fast time is say a 17.089

1D-17.089
2D-17.589 (1/2 second split)
3D-18.089 (1/2 second split)
4D-19.089 (Full second split)

So those are the times that place 1st in each D of that race....

Does this help you any?

Conformation is how far the horse CAN go,
Mind is how far the horse WILL go,
Training is how far it DOES go.

I wish a 17.0 would win 1D here.. I consistantly run 16s but for 1D you have to hit a 15 to place..I fall in the 2D hole all of the time..The 2D "hole" as we call it, is what a majority of the people I run with run those 16..It's the toughest to place in, we're all always right on top of each other.

I still have a month until shows start up around here! I wish it was sooner. I cannot wait! I've gotten all new western show tack and I cannot wait to show it off in the ring. Haha. Along with my mare who has improved greatly since last show season! Good luck to all of you whos shows have started up! :) I'll try to remember to post about my shows when they start up.
