Question What is CC5D?

My daughter is new to Barrel Racing and I'm trying to learn all there is to know about the sport. Will someone please explain what CC5D racing is (or means)?

Okay well I posted on their facebook requesting some general info so they should respond to that.

As far as the sport, what is it you would like to know?
Barrel Racing is my life, I love everything about it.
Most shows are set up with a 4D format, meaning 4 different division winners.
Say the fastest time of the night is a 14.5 sec time, then that would be the winning time for 1D.
A 15.0 would be the winning time for 2D.
A 15.5 would be the winning time for 3D.
A 16.5 would be the winning time for 4D.
they also usually pay out the five fastest times after the winners in each division.
That's how they do it around here.

Clover leaf is three barrels set and run in what appears to he a cloverleaf pattern.
Usually people run to the right barrel first....meaning you would make one right turn and two lefts. It is also legal to run to the left barrel first...meaning one left turn and two rights. Fastest time wins.
Knocking down a barrel can result in either an added 5 sec to your time or a no time...depends on each organizations rules.

It can asleep be a very dangerous and an unpredictable sport, as long as the horse and the rider are both trained correctly you have less room for error or accidents.

That's about it :)
