What kind of...

What kind of Chin/Curb Strap does everybody use? Just a random question that popped in my head lol.

On my running bits I use chain chin straps. On my everyday bridles I am switching out my chain ones for ones like these that I have made with the paracord stuff...

I made one mainly for Zoey because she is so light and then decided to make some more for my everyday bridles. But on JJs I have a leather curb strap for his everyday.

So what do you guys use? And any reason for it?

Conformation is how far the horse CAN go,
Mind is how far the horse WILL go,
Training is how far it DOES go.

I like the paracord idea! Then if you're ever in a bind out on a trail ride and need some rope/cord, you're all set!

I use chain for the racing bits and snaffles get a plain leather curb strap. Atleast right now since I'm using my trainers horse and bridles.

I think the paracord is a cool idea, I have a leather one that seems to be doing the trick

The one I use now has hay twine for the curb strap! It works, so why not? I also have a few with chain straps.

I prefer to use leather. I will put a chain on if I have a really strong horse, which I will be doing with Selena soon I think, but mainly leather. I have some decorative ones that don't really do well with curbs engagement wise that I use on snaffles.

I do like the paracord, I just never did it myself before. lol I might like to though, for color purposes.

Pssh.I didn't pick up the wrong lead
It's called a counter canter...
...A very advanced maneuver.

I have chain curbs. About every bit I use comes with a chain curb, it's what I've always used.

I use all chain curbs for racing. For trail riding or training I use the leather ones with the small double chains in the middle. They aren't as harsh and work good enough still! I never thought about making a paracord one! BTW where did you get that paracord at?!? I LOVE the color of it!
