I would take a Cummings over a Diesel Ford, but in matters of non-diesel trucks... I'd take a Ford.
Mopar (Dodge) is incredibly expensive to maintain. I learned this the hard way with my '00 Dakota, costs about $450 per side to replace ball joints and axle rods. Classic Mopar's are even more expensive to maintain than say a classic Chevy or Ford.
The '04 Expedition I haul with (as in Haul two BIG horses and a steel trailer) is incredible and pulls like a bull. On the other side of that coin my Dad's '93 F350 Diesel has been a total piece of garbage, waste of money, etc, etc. It has been incredibly unreliable for over 10 years now. The reason he won't sell it? It's paid off T_T.
