new truck

Ended up buyin a new truck the other day. I had no plans of buyin one either lol. Stopped by the ford dealership to look at a new king ranch with the 6.7 that they had parked out front. I can't wait to own a 6.7 powerstroke one day, but im not about to spend 50k on a truck so i'll have to wait a few years haha.

Anyway, while I was lookin at it, of course the salesman came over tryin to push the truck. I told him there was no way im spending that kind of money, but if they had any 6.4's, i'd consider it. He didn't think they did, but double checked. Turned out, they had one in the back of the lot. Long story short, after a test drive and 3 hours of negotiating, it was mine.

I miss my 6.0, but im really loving this one

We just got an 06 6liter Monday. I'm not impressed :( it's supposed to be my service truck, but, I honestly would rather drive my 85 dually when pulling a machine.

Did you do anything to yours to make it less of a three legged dog?

Someone I know was complaining about his 6.0 not pulling good. Took it in to get it looked at and the turbo was froze up. Now that's been replaced it pulls so good he's convinced the turbo has never worked since he bought it.

Also there are two fuel filters on the 6.0, often people don't realize that so one doesn't get changes. That can be restricting your fuel delivery to injectors. Goes long enough without being changed and it will kill your injectors.

FYI, there's a couple standard mods that are must do for 6.0's to make them work like they should. One is replacing the head bolts and don't recall what the other one is. If they haven't been done on yours it will need to be done or she'll spend all your money on repairs.

I don't know what all if anything has been done to it. It does have after market exhaust is all I know for sure. It's just weak. But pushes 25ish pounds of boost which seem good if not a lil high.

Pulling this small excavator it struggled to hold 60 mph and 65 was a fairy tail.
