Iso advice! Hello everyone I need some advice. In the next couple of months I would like to get in to mounted shooting. I won't be competing seriously, it will be just for fun. I need to know what type of gun to get for just starting out. It also needs to be on the lower end if the price range. Also if you have any other info I would love to here it, as i am still new to the sport. Thanks again!

I have friends that mounted shoot and would also suggest that you subscribe to magazines or Newsletters about this sport. Western Horse & Gun is a mounted shooting magazine. CMSA is an organization you can look into as well.

When you say a gun on the lower end of price range I think that you need to understand that some of these guns run into the HUNDREDS of dollars so a gun on the lower end would be a couple of hundred. It is the Amo that is expensive and for practicing you will go through a lot of Amo. Try to find a local club to join. The folks are usually quite friendly and willing to offer advice/suggestions

It is a neat sport but is not cheap. Practice shoots cost money-competitive shoots cost money- not to mention trailering to the shoot or the practice.

Just a word of warning - not trying to change your mind to try it.
