Calgary Stampede Team Penning

The biggest ever Stampede Team Penning competition has wrapped up with record team numbers and payouts. Over 760 teams attended two days of qualifiers attempting to secure a top 20 spot in each of the four classes, open, 14, 10, and 7. I tried but didn't make the cut. Some of my regular team mates did though and so did one of my horses.
Last night, in the seven class, I watched my best friends son do an amazing job on my horse to win. I am so proud of Alex, his team mates, and my boy Fred!!!
No pictures though, Alex said it was bad luck for us to video or photograph the runs, lol.

Wow, that's a lot of teams! Congrats to your teammates & your horse!

Lol Angie and Ernie in the back ground look funny. Those guys are from our association. Angie is my best friend. That is a nice horse she is on!

Your association did well. One of the best parts of Stampede is how many amazing horses in many disciplines are all together in one place. Ok only western disciplines...lol Cutting is on now, want to get down and watch. Cowboy Up Challenge was won by a guy from my hometown.
