Cody and I rode in a 4 hour clinic yesterday and he did great! He was a little worried about all the other horses going at various paces around him at first but then settled down and was his usual calm self. We started working on moving his hind end over, front end over. He's definitely a lefty! He can certainly get his big body around faster now than he did in the beginning! He also started flexing at the poll and giving better, staying at a more consistent pace for me. Stopping practice wasn't a problem :? He's basically lazy at heart which is OK! Lots of people there were impressed by how good he is and how good looking he is for a PMU so we did our job there. The clinician said he's a really good horse with a great head on him and that I'm doing a great job with him. Sorry no pictures because I was riding and didn't have anyone there to take them.
The only bad thing that happened was when backing up my trailer to turn around, the bottom scraped on the road a little and tore out all my wiring which then started shorting out and smoking and it went all the way up to the plug. So, no brakes or tail lights all the way home..... luckily I was driving my Chevy dually which can handle the trailer without brakes and one of the guys there at the clinic actually lives down the street from my neighbor whom I hauled to the clinic so he followed us all the way back (1 1/2 hrs.). Hate to take the trailer in to find out what it will cost to replace all the wiring. I thought my husband would be mad but he said the wiring must have been hanging down low because the trailer didn't scrape that much...... The kids ride next weekend so I've got to get on it right away!
I'm still riding on the glow of success with my boy!!
