Does anyone own one of these?

Hey there, I was looking through a few horse books and can't find much info on caring for a Noriker Horse. I would like to get information about this horse as I am considering getting one. It would also be nice to talk with anyone who owns one of these horses. Thank you!

I have adored these horses for a very long time but so far have not found anyone in the states that deals in them. I think it would amount to finding one overseas and shipping it over. But I'd bet it would be worth it!

I think you're going to have to go overseas. I'm not finding any breeder sin the states or canada. A friend of mine told me they deal in holland a lot. Not sure how true that this, but it could be a place to start.

    Noriker

"...The modern Noriker is still exceptionally popular in Austria and is the estabolished all-purpose workhorse of the central Alps region. Now a breed of fixed and clearly recognizable type, The Noriker is subject to strictly enforced breed standards, and there is a rigorous system of inspection and performance testing. ..."

My more recently published breed book (2008 ) also mentions them being popular in Austria and well adapted to mountainous regions.

I hope this helps your search! And I love the Noriker!!

Gorgeous horse, but I've never even seen one that wasn't in a picture.
